Family Emblem

Rufus Grier

The Grier Family Emblem was designed by Rufus Grier, the son of Mr. Troyit James Grier and Sarah Grier.  He was born January 29, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan.  He met and married Dolores Whitmore in September 1949.  The couple had a daughter Karen Grier McBurrows and a son David Grier.  Rufus played a very major role in helping to organize and obtain unformity for the Grier Family Reunions.  He was very dedicated to the Grier Reunion effort until his unfortunate death on January 9, 1987.

The emblem below was placed on the first t-shirt and remains the symbol today.
